Culminating Blog Reflection

I used critical thinking throughout the whole process of my Capstone Project. It started when I had to decide what I was going to do. It wasn't something I could just think of, so I had to make sure that this was exactly what I wanted to work on. I also had to use it for my paper. Communication was also used during this process. I had to communicate with Mrs. Sutter to make sure everything was okay at first, and during the paper. Communication is also very important because I needed to communicate with my mentor. It was important to always keep in contact with my mentor so we were always on the same page. Collaboration also ties in with my mentor. We spent a lot of time together so it was very important that we worked well together. Creativity was also used when I would actually meet with my mentor, and for my power point and presentation.

Personally, I feel that I grew so much during this project. I learned so much about myself, such as how much will power and determination I had. It helped me grow because when I thought I'd give up, I didn't. And that was very important, for not only this project, but in life as well. Socially, I learned to how to step out of my comfort zone. I learned I wasn't as confident as I thought I was and that I was actually really shy. This project helped me work on that. And intellectually, I learned a lot from my paper (Media Effects on Body Image) and how important it is.

Some challenges I encountered was balancing school, work, and meeting with my mentor. It was difficult because not only did I have to balance my time, I had to work around her schedule, too. I also faced trouble with running and stretching at first because I was really out of shape and haven't stretched in so long. I was also really shy which made me a slow learner, but I ended up catching on. I overcame all these obstacles because after the first couple times, I realized I actually liked it a lot and that balancing time became easier as my mentor and I grew closer. I also started to run a lot more and do a lot more stretches which REALLY helped!! Mid-way the project, I also learned to step out my comfort zone!

My mentor and I met  on May 1st, and May 4th for a good two hours on both days. We ran, did stretches, worked on tumbling, and improved my back bridge. I also practice on my own.

I met with my mentor on April 24, and April 27 for two hours on both days. We ran, did stretches, did tumbling, and work on my bridge back. I also practiced all these at home.

I met with my mentor on April 17 and April 20 for two hours on each day. As always we started with running and stretches and I continued to learn how to do basic tumbling.

I again met with my mentor on April 9, and April 13 for two hours each day. We started off by running and stretches and I started to learn basic tumbling. I also did my own stretching at home.

I met with my mentor April 2, and April 6 for about two hours on each day. Again, we just did a basic run and basic stretches. I also did my own stretches throughout the week.

My mentor and I met on March 27, and March 30 for about two hours on both days. We ran and did basic stretches to start off. I've also been doing stretches on my own.
